New Instruction Video for FaceReader Online

Written by Vicar on . Posted in Blog, Current Events, Media

With our web-based platform FaceReader Online you can gather facial expressions of people from all over the world. To make using this service even easier, we have created an instruction video that helps setting up a project. We also show how you can use Qualtrics, one of the leading survey tool providers, to embed the recorder within a questionnaire. In the video, you see the entire process: from setting up a project, incorporating the recorder in a questionnaire, to viewing the results, in less than 9 minutes.

With this approach, you can easily set up an online experiment. For example, you could measure responses to commercials, movie trailers, or instruction video’s. Before and after the video you can collect more data by adding questions about the video or the participant. It is an optimal approach for measuring subjective and objective opinions towards a product.

Are you a FaceReader Online user and want to start a project or are just interested in how this platform works, have a look at our tutorial video.

Which Politicians Have the Most Face-Time in Election Time?

It is hard to miss: Dutch elections are on their way. In times of elections, it is crucial for politicians to get enough screen time. Which politician succeeds the most? VicarVision and Media Distillery worked together to answer this question!

With the newly developed tool LijstTracker, you can view the amount of minutes that each leader of a Party (in Dutch “lijsttrekker”) has been on television. The automatic facial recognition tools developed by VicarVision can recognise each politician in moving images. Whenever a politician appears on a television program, LijstTracker records the amount of time their face is visible.

In the new spicy tv-show “Goedele On Top“, sexologist Goedele Liekens helps couples to improve their sex life. The day-to-day life takes up all their time and sleeping is the only thing that happens in the bedroom. Goedele takes couples to her sexlab and investigates their “love language”.

In the sexlab she uses eyetracking and FaceReader to measure responses to pornographic videos and different sexual topics. Which imaginable sex location makes the woman happy? On the hood of a car or in the swimming pool? Does a golden shower evoke disgust or lust? Based on the results of these tests Goedele gives them advice on how to spice up their sex life. In the first episode (aired on Valentine’s Day), Goedele got the guy excited for foreplay and the couple rediscovered their mutual sex language.

Are you interested in how your partner will respond to the idea of, for example, sex in the pool? Take a picture and insert it in the FaceReader online demo! For some more inspiration, tune in for the next episode of Goedele On Top every Tuesday at 21:30 on RTL 5.
